This proposition is similar to the precedent set during Phase I, where an extension of the co-chairing arrangement (with UNEP FI and OECD) supported greater continuity and effectiveness in delivering the work programme of Phase I.
Given that Phase II is ongoing and not expected to conclude within 2026, extending the current Co-Chair mandate is intended to ensure stability, maintain strategic momentum, and support the consistent delivery of IMP Phase II priorities.
